SAA Statements and Guidelines
As an organization, the Board of Directors for the Society for American Archaeology (SAA) adopts statements and guidelines to speak out about issues that affect the careers and practice of archaeologists. These documents are first authored by entities within the organization, such as an advisory committee or task force, and reflect the work of SAA members volunteering their time to improve the practice of the discipline.
Join SAA and support the organization’s leadership in the discipline.
SAA members pay for a government affairs program that works tirelessly to advance the interests of archaeologists. For Society positions and testimony on policy issues, please see
