Criteria for Selection:
Nominations submitted for this award are evaluated by the award committee using the following criteria. Nominators should use these criteria as a guideline when developing their nomination packet. (i.e., each should be supported by accompanying evidence).
- Leadership
The nominated program/product serves as an exemplary model of public education about archaeology.
- Creativity
The nominated program/product has employed innovative approaches to public education about archaeology through program development, modes of delivery, or methods of distribution.
- Impact
The nominated program/product has had a significant effect on public attitudes about archaeology as determined through formal assessment or other documentation.
- Ethics
The nominated program/product has demonstrated and promoted currently accepted archaeological methods and techniques, and supported the preservation and protection of the archaeological record while respecting other legitimate interests in the possible uses of archaeological sites.
