SAA is the only organization with a full-time presence in
Washington, D.C. Representing the archaeological community
before the U.S. Congress, White House, administrative agencies,
and among its colleagues in the historic preservation community,
SAA is recognized as the leading voice in support of
archaeology.
SAA government affairs program is comprised of the government
affairs committee who works in combination with the Board of
Directors and the government affairs manager in developing
