Archaeology and Public Education

Archaeology and Public Education, the e-newsletter of the SAA Public Education Committee, is posted online four times a year: Spring (Mar 1), Summer (June 1), Fall (Sept 1), and Winter (Dec 1). The print version is no longer published. Material can be submitted at any time but should be received at least 2 weeks before a posting deadline.

Submit news briefs and calendar items to the editor: mkwas@uark.edu.

Submission Guidelines for e-A&PE:

    Posting Deadlines:
      Spring, March 1;
      Summer, June 1;
      Fall, September 1;
      Winter, December 1.

Please send any news or calendar items to the editor no later than 2 weeks before the posting deadline; earlier will be gladly accepted. If you use an attachment, the editor prefers WordPerfect or MS Word. For shorter items, it is often easier to just send it in the body of an email message. Please send by email to mkwas@uark.edu.

News items should be kept very short--essentially news briefs. Please edit information to about 1 to 4 short paragraphs of the most important items. Include phone number, snail address, or email/web address where readers can go for further information. For multiple activities at a single location, please highlight the most interesting.

Format all paragraphs as left justified with no indent or tab, double space between paragraphs. Put only 1 space (not 2) after periods. Put a headline or title to news briefs in all caps. Times New Roman, 11 pt., is the preferred font, but it is not essential. If you use something different, however, use a widely common font.

Because of space limitations, timeliness of news items, or judgements as to interest levels, the editor will select from the items sent and may not use all that are provided. Information may also be further edited. For questions or queries, please contact the editor.
